What is Myofunctional Therapy?
Myofunctional therapy is a neuromuscular re-education of the oral and facial muscles. It’s done through a series of tailored exercises, awareness, and reduction of muscle compensations. Every muscle in the body has a specific job, but when issues arise our body will compensate. Overtime these compensations can lead to chronic pain and can affect breathing and sleeping. Engaging in myofunctional therapy can help to eliminate these compensations and restore normal function.
